Well, I've been working on dwarven (dwemmer) spear, while improving my skills in modelling. Right now it looks like this:
I'll post p3d when its finished, right now it still needs some tweaking/optimising.
Please let me know if you like it. Both model-wise and if that interpretation of dwarven Morrowind weapon is okay with you :)
Ofcourse I realise you still may not like it really much, but this model is far, far better then the ebony sword i posted before. My skills improved a lot since that (still nothing special ofcourse) - thanks to thegreatgamecreator2 who gave me some tips and great video tutorials and Ravanna, who spent a lot of time explaining many different aspects of 3d modelling, helping me out throughout the creating, baking, texturing process :) For that, guys, I'm really greatful!
Okay, heres the link to the 3d view of the Dwemer Spear. Well... I can't make up my mind when it comes to texture (colours etc) but for now i think i need leave it for a bit, since I'm stuck.
Here its 1024, but ofcourse i have 2048 version of it. I baked highpoly and rendered out AO (with Ravanna's help, hopefully from now on I'll be able to do it on my own :) ).
As I wrote before, I will com back to the spear model, since it may use some tweaks and deffinetly needs better texture (that, I think is the matter of adjusting colours, other that that I'm ok with what i got). Right now I'm working on halberd :)
Someone recently posted his new redo/retexture of Wraithguard http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/41719//?
Allowing anyone to use it for any purpose as long as credit is given. I'd contact this guy because the gauntlets look great!
I saw that Wraithguard model last night on the nexus when it got uploaded. Besides the hue of the metal being slightly off, the actual model is almost spot on with the Morrowind original. Whoever has the ability to rig it and create a .nif should definitely contact the author.
As far as the bonemold helmets go, if I'm not mistaken, Morrowind did have city-specific helmets depending on what family held the most influence there. I would say contact the author but I don't know if there are already bonemold variants in place. Though it wouldn't hurt to compare and pick the best models.
But ;-) : Why are the spikes on the club not on the top but slightly below it? I would assume I makes more impact if the spikes are more towards to top end of the club....
And are you going to make the sword blades a bit thinner? I looked it up and most 1H swords are supposed to be like max 5 mm thick (at the base), long swords maybe 7 mm. I'm just mentioning this because your swords look really nice, but when you look from from the side/along the sharp side the look more like "play toys"...
The spikes on the club are there because thats where they were on the original.
In terms of blade thickness its realism vs original model vs what looks good. Though it maybe unrealistic in real life they if a blade looks to thin the believability goes out the window. Iron should look heavy. The blades themselves are not really that thick. Also keep in mind that every little thing that you notice on the weapons will probably never get examined by the player. The only reason you notice these things is because you have a 3d preview that allows you to zoom in that closely. Compare to the vanilla skyrim weapons and you will find that they are just as thick if not thicker sometimes. There is a point in art where making something look realistic will make it look bad or uninteresting.
hi) ur mace have strange position in inventory. and I think, 0.8.2 havent got iron longsword v2 ( and iron fork ingame not the same with iron fork in this thread)
Thanks for letting me know. The new iron longsword and the Fork should have been in there. The file I gave them had all of the updated weapons up to the iron mace.
I'll see about the inventory thing and get it sorted out.
I'll see about getting them in the next update if there really not there.
Just so you guys know i'm still working on something. Dwarven mace is done to the point where the texturing needs to be done, and since I'm not really good at the texturing at this point, I decided to move along to dwarven shortsword. This is it as highpoly in zbrush. Golden material just for fun, though it looks really cool on this model ;)
Are we allowed a little freedom when designing the weapons or should we stick to the original design as closely as possible? Example: would I be able to slightly alter the design of Mehrunes' Razor or should I design the original?
Your base should be the original design with a 2014 vision.
Then you can go a little farther as long as it still feels the same. I suggest you share progress progressively so the other modellers can steer you in the right direction..
Is the bow animated? Other than this it really is a nice model but i think it needs some more work. Both when it comes to overall quality (i think you can use more polies) and some details to make it less "artificial". Not sure if you get my meaning.
Above you can see the models that are done. Well.. I would write 95% done but this would drive eloth mad ;) For more info and in order to leave some feedback, you can go here: morroblivion.com/forums/skyrim/skywind-development-forums/weapons/6612
Hey guys and gals, I have a friend who's great with models and textures and interested in the project. Any direction I can point him (kinda tough to just jump in haha).
Probably something fairly small, since he tends to add way to much detail ;)
It depends on what he wants to do. If he wants to do something small then weapons and armours are off limit. The rule is - you make the whole set so it looks "complete" so if you make silver dagger, you will have to make the rest of the weapons and armour too.
He could go with the furniture or any kind of clutter except for what we already have (i think candles, lanterns baskets are in progress). Best person to ask is Ravanna - if hes not there, eloth. Even i can help if theres no one else around. First thing he needs to do is come by and say hello ;)
Just opened the spreadsheet ! Seems no one is yet working on the Ebony weapons, I would be happy to have a go at it, starting with the Ebony arrow and broadsword.
Great - just remember that the guys will want you to create armour as well if you finish the ebony weapons. Good luck with the set - i really like Morrowind's ebony set so I can't wait to see it redone :)
wow the armor heh :p cool. I heard I had to talk to the GreatGameCreator (I think) since he's the one in charge of weapons, but yeah I'd love to get started asap !

Dude that looks amazing, I can't wait to see it done!
Looks great! I'm glad I could be of some help.
is a very good looking dwemmer spear cant wait to see more
also does skywind have some way of using non skyrim weapons like spears and trowing stars and stuf
and does that iron fork got a iron knive to match so i can go around killing whit a knive and fork like i did in skyrim (hopefully whit beter damage)
UPDATE September 2: The Iron Warhammer.
thegreatgamecreator2, great weapons!
Here is the original Iron Dagger http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Iron_Dagger_%28Morrowind%... . Possible to add a couple of details on the grip of the dagger? :)Okay, heres the link to the 3d view of the Dwemer Spear. Well... I can't make up my mind when it comes to texture (colours etc) but for now i think i need leave it for a bit, since I'm stuck.
http://p3d.in/Yg5Gn
And i wonder what i should try next, i think halberd.
@Tommythegun What size is the texture? Did you bake in high poly normals and render out a AO map?
@thegreatgamecreator2

Okay so that's how the halberd looks right now. I still have to unwrap it, bake it and texture it :)
So I'm just throwing this out there.

Also not sure where to post this, but I thought the diversity of neat Bonemold Armors among city guards and NPCs would be great. So just throwing it out there for ideas.

UPDATE September 7: Iron Longsword has been updated.

UPDATE September 9: The Iron Shortsword
UPDATE SEPTEMBER 9 #2 The Iron Club.
Wonderful work again!

UPDATE September 22: The Iron Tanto
Dude these all look great, just used some of them in 0.8.2. Very professional and carry on the Morrowind style extremely well.

Well, most of you guys have already seen it, but for those who didn't:
Dwemmer Halberd - it's pretty much finished - the texture might be improved later, when i get better at this.
Here is the link:
http://p3d.in/o7dlA
an the pic. Remember the textures are low res. It actually doesnt look that bad with 2048 textures ;)
looking good!
Sweet looking :)
thegame, we are always losing your Iron Fork! ((
a little creativity ))
Nice Tommy!
Thank you guys :) the mace coming soon!

High poly looks great! If you need any texturing tips let me know.
Thanks! I surely will when i get back to texturing. I'll have to retexture all previous weapons so i keep that part for later :)

Hi All!
I hope i can help you with this project.
I'm interested in making weapons, armor, furniture or books, except characters, or creatures.
I saw in the weapons list that this is not done yet so here is the Bonemold Long Bow, that i made today.
Hope it's quality matches the criteria.
If you like it , or have any suggestions get in touch.
Thanks,
Myro
I like it; it looks similar to the original. But let's wait what the others say.
Is the bow animated? Other than this it really is a nice model but i think it needs some more work. Both when it comes to overall quality (i think you can use more polies) and some details to make it less "artificial". Not sure if you get my meaning.
Anyway it's really good start in my opinion.
Ok since this is the main hub for the weapons, im gona copy paste the fragment from my thread:

Thanks, I told him that. He's just...overwhelmed. He's registered but hasn't posted yet,I'll get him in here!
Hey !

PM me if interested !

hello, my question is can anyone post sketches? or do you have to have a 3d model/be part of the mod team..
if so what is needed?
Sketches are welcome, Dragomir is a good person to talk to if you're interested in doing some concept art. You can try talking to happychappy too.
I threw together a rough model of Umbra Sword in about an hour. Thoughts?
http://p3d.in/0JFHw
Blade is too big in relation to the handle :P Especially for a two handed variant, the grip should be a bit longer.
Okay, fixed up my previous model and added a crude (very crude) texture I found.
http://p3d.in/oTzFG
Does anyone have an updated list of what is done and not done? I'm having a hard time figuring out which weapons are claimed or not.
I'm pretty new here so If I've missed something obvious, sorry in advance. Thanks.
