  I personally like Raven

Much later there will be an event in Raven Rock Mine where giant roots grow going along with a spriggan mission (possibly other roots around as well, but only during the mission)

Finally a great overall hostage event for the mine skaal attack would be great, seeing as Skyrim had a the ability to have cuffed or tied prisoners.

Also, the Bloodmoon layouts of the barrows are all pretty much the same. I'm trying to find ways to make each one feel at least somewhat unique, but still recognizible. should I expand any of them, or just stay true to the original layouts?

I'd say expand. Originals are pretty boring imho.

p.s. You do realize that you are creating a sort of Dragonborn DLC yourself alone?

I've worked a lot with the skyrim stuff. Maybe I could help with Bloodmoon after I'm done with Azura's Coast. I really like the cold/nordic parts of landscapes. Unless my skills aren't good enough...

Moar!

Moar!

I really like anything "monumental", it makes me fell in game small compared to the world around.

This is great. Such a shame it's for the xpac and the area may not be done for the initial release. Keep it up though, it'll blow people away in the end.

It's really good to see new

It's really good to see new layouts and expanded one's. I support the idea to make the barrows more unique, as it creates more of a sense of adventure rather then Morrowind's quick and small equivalent barrows.

If you can run the base Skyrim game, you should be able to run Skywind without problems.

That's not entirely true... Skywind currently needs around 1.5 times the processing power that vanilla Skyrim does.

More progress, this time for

More progress, this time for Himmelhost Barrow:

The basalt is from the southeastern point where Tel Mithryn will grow roughly 200 years later in Dragonborn. I'm trying to experiment with blending the barrow interiors with the surrounding landscape to give them more of a unique feel, instead of repeating the same barrows tileset.

Hey Iceflame,

Hey Iceflame,

Just wanted to pop in and say that you're doing a great job. All the screenshots look great, and I can't wait to revisit Solstheim!

Quick question (just out of curiosity): I know you're bridging the Solstheim of Morrowind with the one in Skyrim. Are you basing the burrows/caves off of Morrowind's, or are you carrying over the ones from Skyrim and making them Morrowind-ish?

Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the support, I'm

Thanks for the support, I'm taking what I can from Dragonborn's barrows where reference is present, as not all of them carried over into Dragonborn from Bloodmoon. But, I am starting from the original Morrowind layout and making changes and additions from that. Some of my revisions will feel much more familiar than others, and generally keep the same layout intact. I am doing what Dragonborn does in having a similar entrance layout to that of Bloodmoon, but with hidden chambers to add additional areas to explore. However, a few, such as Himmelhost, will be much more revised in appearance, as the same general layout seemed to appear too often throughout most barrows in the original. Most of the changes are visual, though, and the loot and creatures are largely the same. The models I'm using are mostly from Skyrim, but there will be some Morrowind touches where they are fitting.

Yep would nice to have something like Blackreach where exterior rock meshes are used to simulate a huge interior cave.

This isn't really relevant to

This isn't really relevant to the Hirstaang forest, but rather to Solstheim itself. Even though it wasn't in the original, the Temple of Miraak should be a discoverable location. This is to avoid the plot-hole that Bethesda created, when they released the Dragonborn DLC for Skyrim.

Maybe it's covered with dirt?

Maybe it's covered with dirt? Or isn't fully constructed until the zombie workers? But yes, I feel it would have been nice to start with the Dragonborn version and take it back in time, but I'm not sure that's possible at this point with the drastically smaller map.

I'll take a look at it if I can get dragonborn to stop crashing.  Or I'll just load it up in the editor.

I'm the one responsible for Solstheim at the moment by the way.

I made the Temple of Miraak a long while back when I was still working on Solstheim. It is in a more ruined state than Dragonborn's as there are not yet any Miraak cultists/forced workers to restore it. It does have the stair thing around the central area like in Dragonborn, but it is dilapidated and heavily weathered in comparison. It serves as the location of the Tree stone, and may or may not have the ability to clear the debris blocking the entrance to the temple below.

For further continuity with later iterations, I'd also like the East Empire Company to award East Empire Pendants. Hillod and Dranas Llethro should show up in Raven Rock too.
