ok i need some feed back on styles on the forge we are sticking to the main layout of the forge for skyrim due to animations but for the main forge style i have made 6 versions up to see what we all like best we shall number them 1-6 going down the list

#2 is the best imo.
Agreed, I like #2 also.
-Natterforme
ok number 2 it is i will clean it up and get it up and running @denevir thats the idea i had for it for the smoothed out look
Denivir and I were talking a while back about this, though I'm not sure if this has already been discussed, though we though it would be great if we created velothi blight moths as catchable ingredients to use in the crafting of dunmeri silk clothes.
sounds good we need a few more crafting ingredients and especially for cloth
The blight moths can be added, and I think Kresh fiber as well for lower tier clothing.
And I'm really liking the progress on the stations!
You mean cocoons? Catching the moths themselves wouldn't yield silk.
why not to place cocoons in the wilds and near it some moths? The moths could be an ingredient and when the player sees some moths he knows the cocoons are nearby.
About the cocoons, we could make cluster of them because picking up one would be tedious and as clusters you can pick a decent amount of silk.
And scumpunx i like the new stations they are amazing(specially the table with the roots )
scumpunx - dyeing station is enormously good.

May be you could change Telvanni's-table-funguses to round shape? It would be in harmony with mushrooms around - or even could be one big mushroom's cap.
Mway brought this to my attention.
It seems that Cyrodilic ancestor moth silk is produced in the same way that common silk is produced in te real-world. This involves tossing the entire cocoons in hot water, killing the pupae, and reeling the silk off as one long single strand. Real-world cocoons yield a strand of around 3000 feet (1000 meters, give or take) and are woven together to make the high-gloss silk with which we're familiar.
Mulberry Silkworm Silk
Velothi blight silk is mentioned as being coarser in appearance than ancestor moth silk, good only for 'practical' use. As this was written from the perspective of someone with an obvious bias toward ancestor moth silk, we can take that with a grain of salt.
Still, that word, 'practical' describes the Dunmer rather well. The Cyrodilic method of silk production is quite wasteful, as it involves culling most of the silk moth generation for silk production. There is another way to produce silk, though, in which you allow the moth to complete its life-cycle, emerging from the cocoon, and then spin the threads together like you would cotton or wool (as opposed to reeling). This does give a 'coarser' appearance to the clothing, but definitely lends itself well to Dunmer interpretation.

Eri Silk
The other type of silk that might readily be available in ES is spider silk. There are huge spiders in Tamriel, producing vast quantities of silk. In the real world, making garments from spider silk is a tedious process, as even large orb-weaver spiders produce relatively small amounts of silk (the fibers themselves are much less dense than caterpillar silk - they're meant to be 'invisible' while having very high strength, after all). The image below required collecting silk from over eight million orb weaver spiders, as they only produce minor amounts of silk during one season each year. It's undyed, though - the natural coloration of this spider silk being ridiculously cool looking on its own.
Golden Orb-weaver Spider Silk
I think spider silk would definitely lend itself to Telvanni silks.
Oooooh, nice! With that many types of silk they could correspond to the type of clothing made (i.e. spider silk=exquisite/Telvanni, Velothi Blight silk=common?). The only thing though...where would the Telvanni get the spiders? Are we adding them to Morrowind? :)
I definitely want spiders added at least to Therana's dungeons. Half of her dialogue talks about raising spiders.
Well, she's certainly quirky, a few spiders won't hurt :)
now we have some really good idea on silk what about other fibers we could use like kresh weed to make things like hemp based fabrics also dont forget that morrowind is only one province so there will be trade routes for things like goat hair but these things would be in very short supply and held by traders
i have planned to make Silk worm + Related moth (now have only prototypes), but it will be really not soon.
---
In general on island can be used as fibers: Kresh fiber (as common fiber), Silk (as elite fiber) and maybe some crude fiber of Hackle-Lo (technical - as coconut-fiber). This 3 fibers should be enough for this small island needs.
---
It will be good to see some plantations of it, when main cities and additional NPC would be added.
let me know which one :) you all like or if theres any changes i can make please let me know and just so you all know this is not finished by any means im still yet to sort out the ideas for the magic schools symbols
2nd from end. Simple and techno.

---
IDEA: You can put smaller circles around (or in) bigger as picture of star system.
Such things looks magical.
I think no.3 is the most Morrowind like, but I really like them all so it's hard to choose... hmm...
Number 3 for Dunmeri. Next to last for Dwemeri.
on this, i'll try doing general, telvanni pattern, and mages guild
@alysander im sorry but the image in the post is well very complex and i have no idea of what it is depicting i have not done the star chart in the center yet but im leaning towards just the 2 moons and the sun for simplicity for you to understand where i am going with this here is my ref which i have been using http://s264.photobucket.com/user/scumbrianpunx/media/tes___s... i really want to incorporate everything into this from the cosmology to schools of magic the divines and the daedra so the formula im going for is 6 for the schools 8 for the divines and 16 for the daedra and the star map in the center (and sorry if ive simplified or got any of that wrong) so hopefully everything shall and will be encompassed in the symbol
You can make it simpler : make round-with-decorations as custom alpha (in PS or analog) and just stamp then smaller rounds.
ok heres an enchanters table for the mages guild thanks to saivryn for the concept still more to be done on this namely the textures and some small details but almost there
also saivryn if you see me on and get chance could we have a chat :)
@ alysander yes i know how to make custom alphas no need to tell me
Forgive my absence, i've been bedridden since last wednesday. I'll try to get to making the other tables soon
Looking great! Are you going to use some vertex shading?
These look wonderful! Can't wait to see what they would look like with clutter placed on them by level designers.
I really love all of the little drawers on the mages guild crafting table.
Just curious, are there any plans on making smaller versions that can be placed on other tabletops like the ones attached below, or will these all remain as individual crafting stations?
I love how practical it looks! :D Really awesome and should really fit the mages guild in Morrowind. Now... Two things. Candles would make it look way awesome, ones that are half molten and so on. Probably to be placed by clutterers? I'd really like there to be loads of them on the enchanting tables, along with soulgem clutter and books.
Another thing is that even though it looks way awesome, it's hard for me to picture it inside a Telvanni shroomtower. Would it be too much to ask for a second model - Telvanni variant? I can get some concept artist to work on that ;) I actually have two who would be perfect for it!
Enchanting stations seem to use "magetallow candles" to function (they were needed to add an enchanting station in Frostcrag Spire), although other sources of power can be used (like the heart stone for Neloth's staff-enchanting station in Dragonborn). These candles seem to not really look any different than regular candles. Adding some would be a welcome addition to an already great model.
ya, das stuff-
who needs to scan stuff
denevir will send a few more specific reference thingamabobs
Daedric and corkbulb variants are best.
May be you can modify it in new variants with some more exotic things than candles.
I wanted to keep it simple, especially on the tablet
One that doesn't need to be kept too simple is the Daedric one ;) It could use a few spikes to give it some demonic edge.
eh, i've never liked demonic spikes, they look too cheesy for me. One thing i like about morrowind's daedric structures is their subtlety, which creates a more provocative, and mysterious type of foreboding feel for me. Even those spiked pillars weren't really too 'demonic spiky' for me, rather i think they look more alien, and wonky, which adds to the feel
Of course I didn't mean generic demon spikes. Believe me, I don't like those either, I thought by this point it should be pretty obvious and unnecessary to say :P Go with what you can find on Daedric ruins, take a look at those "lamp" things hanging from the ceiling, dropping some kind of smoke. No idea what their purpose is, but I'd like the altar to have a bit more of that, right now it looks way too simplistic for what it is.
No offense aylsander, but that does not look accessible. I needs an open section for the player to stand. I love the look, but it needs an empty spot on the rim.
also, i personally think it is exactly what i was talking about, generic demon spikes, plus, there is no way to use it as an enchanting table, as you need certain bits for it to operate, including the candles- i forget what kind they were-
I wanted only to show general possible shape of spikes. With space for praying/magic it can look like this:

Instead of central crystal it can use some daedric statuette of course.
those looks really good dude :)
The most expensive one needs the most smooth 'bowl'. Jaggedy bowls suck as mortars. Like that first one - the rock is fine. The last one, assuming that is the 'best one' needs to be ultra smooth. The copper one you could also make marble with copper trim or so.
In other news I just realized we have 18 mortar and pestle sets of various sizes.
expectedly perfect.
20 actually including the secret master plus the bowl for the last one is smooth in the bottom ive taken into account that the bowl needs to be smooth to work at its best
my first completed low poly from Zbrush that im happy with and no seams! at last the rest are on there way had a busy day with the family so only had chance to learn xnormal and finish off this one model but will hopefully have the next few ready tomorrow and a few more bits if all goes well

ok so i was playing a quest for the first time on skyrim called lost to the ages in which you start the quest by picking up an item and reading a book called The Aetherium Wars. i was reading through the book and found that atheruim would make the perfect candidate for the secret master alchemy set due to a section in the book which reads
Modern scholars know Aetherium as a rare, luminescent blue crystal found in some Dwemer ruins. Most consider it little more than a curiosity, as it has proven all but impossible to work with: while it has a strong magical aura, it is alchemically inert, and no known process can enchant, smelt, mold, bind, or break it.
To the dwarves, of course, such problems were merely a challenge. In the years following King Harald's reign, the Dwemer discovered a considerable source of Aetherium in their deepest delvings. An alliance of four cities, led by Arkngthamz, the great research center in the southern Reach, was formed to oversee its extraction, processing, and study, and a new 'Aetherium Forge' constructed to smelt it under precisely controlled conditions.
If the inscriptions I discovered are to be believed, the results were nothing short of spectacular: the items produced by the Forge were artifacts of immense power, imbued from the moment of their creation with powerful enchantments. The dwarven alliance shattered almost immediately, as the four city-states and their rivals attempted to claim the Forge.
the reason for scraping the ebony material for the set is down to the rough cut look of the set i cannot fault the work that has gone into the concept by matt because i love the design but it just looks too roughly cut and bulky to be the best alchemy set so to sum it up i purpose that we should change it to atherium for a few reasons
as for the placement of this item we can have it so a quest could be activated once you get lvl 100 alchemy you could be sent on a quest to talk to npc X given a key sent to one or four large dwemer ruins (to spread the items) at the end of the ruins we could place a door so it impassable before you unlock the quest and have a large dungeon crawl to find the item/s
so let me know what you think and i can get drawing up some ideas/concepts on the set
