Good luck with that, but as seen from your previous works you don't really need luck....
Waiting for next masterpiece !
Thought u may want to see your Iron Armour finished.

textures arent final, but i think it looks ok.
It'll look different in skyrim, max renders things odd.
Drag will also let me know about texture modifications
Sieht bereits vielversprechend aus ;D
wow dude, thats some kick ass detail you put into that texture! thats just awesome
i really like it !
Hell yeah! Finally someone started this!

One thing I will point out is that the upper leg to knee region under the scales seems to me to be the tail of a gambeson, with a split. Drago might've had something different in mind when designing it though, no idea, just my observation.
Gambeson example:
&#%!@?! JESUS &#%!@?! WTF!@!$@\
C'mon guys this gear looks &#%!@?! unbelievable! I never cease to be blow away with the things you guys do here.
Even though its early WIP it looks very promising
I'm just curious at this point in the development does every tier of armour have a dunmer variant? Just thought it could be quite fun to play through as a Dark Elf and only wear those variants.
I know there's already Iron, Steel, Ebony and Glass. And I understand that Daedric isn't really possible.
I think more paint and rust, and less shining metal can make it better.
---
May be even with only pieces of shining metal on scratches.
smartinius, you done awesome work! Really like this, style, colours, all! Continue making good armor! ;)
Yep, Jorgen was right, it was a very similar gambeson, with loose pants underneath. I guess the shadow in the concept kind of hid that. There are a few things that need some tweaking - gauntlets getting bigger and getting plates, scales being arranged a bit differently, the sash being a bit wider around the waist, but I guess it's just a matter of it being in early stage.

The iron looks freaking awesome, but I'd really like to see the stiches kept on the leather parts, as well as the rust in diffuse rather than cube maps - as it is now it looks strange, rust is actual orange oxide, not a lighting effect :P Also would probably make it a bit more subtle - it wouldn't make sense for your armour to be rusty right after you've made it.
Also, the steel armour presented here isn't necessarily Dunmer. It has slight influences that make sense, like the scarf to protect user from ash, but other than that it's not exactly a Dunmeric design (even though it can definetly befit their culture).
But then that's my designer's whining, other than that, my reaction was this:
hallo, here is my todays work.
Already loving it!
Hey, i just felt like thanking dragomir, ravanna and the guy who put my 3d models into skyrim. sometimes, when i get credit for doing a amour, it deosnt feel right and today i know why. because i dont deserve that. its important for me to tell you, that without the great creativity of dragomir, who is always involved into the sculpting and his ideas always make my 3d art stuff better and ravanna who is doing the textures for all my models because i dont have a clue how that works and the people who i dont know yet but who are bringing the armour into the game, make a dream come true for me. since i was a little boy playing games, i always dreamed about bringing my own 3d creation into a computer game but i always failed. but now, with this project and the people in this community, it happens.. that makes me cry right in this moment..its awesome. so dont forget, that without the team, not a single polygon would make it into the game.
may the brush be with you
It's looking pretty awesome. :D
At this rate, I'm going to pick up every armour I see and be over-encumbered. :P
Sir, it's a pleasure to bring your creations ingame, keep up the great work (cannot wait to put hands on this steel armor).
Dude, you really can't imagine how awesome it feels to see my designs make it into the game. The game that is big and recognized, and the game I dreamt of for years. All of you, all the modellers who took my armour upon themselves, as well as our implementers (Aleh before, now Batmanna), are making my dreams come true, even if sometimes I'm picky or pricky about tiniest of details. Keep up that great work, and let the team inspire each other more and more!
Looks fuckin' 'mazin, love the material definition.
And yet again developers should take note how to design proper cool looking armor for their AAA games by looking at this stuff.
hey, i just made a little fun shot from my latest progress. the dagger maybe dont get into the design but i felt like making a dagger and it was fun :) . if you are interested in how i made some parts of the armour, i realy like to share my experiences. cya
This is your best armor yet smart! I absolutely love it and Im totally geeking out over it xD
I like the dagger btw, seems like something that would come in handy in Vvardenfell.
until we get the clothing template system up and running, save those trousers.
I am literally going to wear this armour forever.
hey people,
today felt like i need a break from doing modeling stuff. so i just want to tell you, that i will take some time for regeneration.
keep up the good work and we see us then.
bb
have a good rest smarti, awesome models btw
ok, i worked a bit on that armour in a slower rate so here are my results.
- the pauldrons get a fixing leather strap and under the helm, the chest piece will get a collar
- iam also thinking about surface details for now its all flat except for the soft cloth and leather wich are havin folds already applyed
That looks crazy good. You are amazing!
fantastic work smarty! :)
Damn that is so EPIC !!!
Hey batmanna,
can you please take a look at the topology and tell me, what has to be changed if any at all? i also can send you the mesh as .obj file if needed
click on the link to see the realtime sketchfab mesh: https://skfb.ly/BRrZ
hngggggggggggg
Smartinius my friend !
You really got what I said about right mesh topology, as the mesh as it is is perfect for a good rig.
Needless to say, your work is superb, can't wait to put my hands on it and put it ingame.
hey batmanna,
thank you for your feedback, iam happy that i got your point on the first try. :) its a good thing, that you pointed out the topology issue the other time. it improves the quality of the armor and the workflow and quality of both of our work. thank you.
Hi! this is just pure awsomness :D
its perfect :3
hello,
i made a little test turnaround for the low poly steel armor with and without wireframe. i just tested a method for a turnaround movie and thought, that you might be interested in it
tri count is at 13.5k one belt and the bag is just left. when everthing is going well, the tricount gonna be at 14.5-15k ,(hopefully)

have fun. by smartinius
oh wow <3
OMG Wow! Awesome work man!
very lovely
So when can we expect to see some shots of this in game?
Who is this devil child! Amazing work man
Hurray! A turn table that isnt 20 sec long! Great looking LP smartinius!
This armour looks so awesome. As I said before, I'll probably wear this armour exclusively (on one playthrough) just because of how cool it looks. :)
thanx for your support folks :), i think dragomirs concept up front is very good and it is very cool, that he and all of you trust in my abilities to create this armor in 3d.with dragomirs artistic advice, critique and creativity, the 3d model came out very pleasing, i have to mention it, because his sharp eyes realy enhanced critical parts of the armor a lot. i of course enjoy your support too, at the end, i spend like 100 hours for it, and the apreciation is welcome.
the most stuff is done: i finished the retopology, uv layout and basic baking. iam now working on the diffuse map. for texturing i start from scratch. i never did such a big full armour texture before and learn a lot about the process from the ground up. if my textures arent pleasing at the end, i have no problem to skip them and let maybe ravanna do the texture job, if hes available.
here is a little preview of the diffuse map for the chest. it may change a lot, but thats my progres for now.
thanx and may the brush be with you.
I've always loved simplicity, preferring armors that are less... extravagant. This armor has so many details while remaining simple. Love the work Smartinius, hope you're going to bring more good things to the project!
Look at you being all humble. Take a bow my man, you can do textures for Ravanna next time ;-)
I've been looking (well, drooling) at that picture for a full 5 minutes now and I think I speak for all of us that you're doing one hell of a job with the armor smartinius, can't wait to see the finished product and have no doubts it will be amazeballs!
hello, this is just the diffuse map with the normal map applied. (marmoset preview)
I don't care how low level this is going to be, soon as I get my hands on it my character won't be taking it off.
