yesterday I worked on design, I think logically will be to keep Tel naga silhouette (at least in game he reminded me the big monster at whom eyes shine with lamps). I think it is necessary to keep and resinous stacks, to use them as a daylight (would be to illuminate coolly at their night :)). To take the twisted root. At the moment I work on a 3D model
Hello everybody! I made some remarks on tel-naga interior, proceeding from it I remade everything. Today i finished unwraping map. The following updating will be in a week, I don't like to update on a trifle the WIP
approximate distribution of the existing interior, for creation of a new exterior
Like the model overall Shifty! The only comment I would make is that my eye is drawn towards the goop coming off of the mushrooms. Hard to say without seeing it in-game but I it looks a bit funny as a static object since it looks like it should be dripping in real-time slowly and it is quite a prominent change from the vanilla versions. Might just be that it's very orange and monotone right now tho, but I can't help feel that the model might be better off without this aspect or with it scaled back, a little less cartoony, and possibly a little more formidible looking. Just my two cents though. Everything else looks fantastic about it!
Colossal model. However, this kind-of-resin looks unnatural.
---
You can try to make it later more liquid though, depicted as animated alpha texture layer.
drooping resin is probably meant to be collection of glowing hanging tendrils, easily fixed. the actual tendrils could be animated tree-type assets by vita.
'Windows' are nice. Maybe would be good to stick to concept - make it slightly orderly posed with gradual decreasing size to edge of margin of their area.
Thanks Alysander i got your idea, but what do you think about slow animation? At first i think i'll do mesh with bake textures, like an my concept and do as you write.
we had a nice thread on telvanni architecture not too long ago, idk where that went. perhaps we could refer more to some of the concept art done by smerk, and other tesrenewal artists, rather than directly copying the original style. i think a fusion of tel mithryn architecture and "normal telvanni architecture" could be interesting

Holy crap I would love to see stuff like this, Make it so large that people can see it from Vivec. Make it huugggeeeee There could be walls too, Make its own worldspace so that we can abuse the amount of roots and vines everywhere, Possibly even have a weather system for spores being released into the wind, Drifting off into the distance.
I just want to say Shifty, the model is looking great and to not feel discouraged by the concept art being thrown up, you are doing Vivec's work. Your model is fantastic, Just focus on the few details that need tweaking: the windows, the goop. Your 80-90% to the final product. Just inquire with someone like Ravanna, and they'll guide you to the finish.
are you saying that we should just abandon all the planning and art that has come out of smerk, mk and other concept artists all of whom worked very hard to push out the ideas and concepts they and other members had in mind?
its just a shame, to have all these great ideas floating around, to settle for a semi repetitive architectural style.
No, Veloth.
---
But 3 of concepts here just irrelevant to current asset.
And 4th-last is poorly detailed.
And hive from first pic already even made.
So in this case that's your opinion is wrong.
---
Only lukkar's pic have reliable relation, i hope its' design motives can be combined with current model
(maybe color can be changed between small-greed and big(ripe)-amber mushroom bodies).
(however main design motive is orderly placed 'windows').
If i am right : this model was in previous builds. Now there isnt such model placed. I think it was temp or not suits Vvardenfell.
DaedricLord made this model, i think that's related?
wait... you're saying that the architecture will vary in form based on the city? (excluding tel vos) are we doing this for redoran as well? you're just being vague
i know that, i also know that the cuttings are mainly from the emperor cap fungi, the main large fungus. also, if i'm getting this right, we're gonna make tel mora in this style, and perhaps tel branora in a different one? or will all of these towers be exact replicas of those in the original game.
personally, i think we should have all the concepts for each tower and their respective villages all planned out and mapped before we start modeling them. my main issue with the telvanni from morrowind was that they were rushed. they didn't even get their own bonemold/armors like the redoran did. we need to get this right, to properly pay homage to one of the most interesting and exotic factions in the elder scrolls.

Veloth, don't take this wrong way, but saying "we" when it's clearly other people doing these things is a big overstatement. Telvanni in Skywind are already getting more love than they did in Morrowind, and there's plenty of stuff that needs more attention at the moment, no matter how much you love that faction. I understand you really want to be a part of the fun, but you need to contribute much, much more before you can say things like "we should do this".
Well, Velothi has been blocked, I got enough complaints from developers to feel this is warranted.
Anybody who managed to clock up almost as many downvotes as they have posts is clearly just pissing people off.
"Since when did people start getting blocked for having opinions..." - as of right now. Word of warning, you need to be contributing to have any weight to conversions. We could just ignore you, but these people do actually clutter up the forums and cause stress to some of the developers, especially the newer ones.
You tease!

Concept looks very promising Shifty, cant wait to see more :)
mesh is finished, following stage is unwrapping and texturing, and still to find free time for this purpose

this looks nice. How many do it have separate models?
Nice
very, very good, no, excellent!

Views :)
WOW, looks amazing!!!!!
I'm just posting here
and my small overpainting
Up!
Mesh almost done. Bark, barkstripped and moss textures to. Now left finsh some textures and LOD's and maybe some fix as you want

I think the textures will be changed to reflect the concept art above.

Windows could use some love.
Otherwise, awesome. :D
don't look at mushroom textures there is bark textures, eventually I do Tel Naga build :). Maybe to make the windows less?

guys, this is "the hive" its an ancient cathedral and meeting place in the ashlands.
Nothing to do with telvanni.
disregard.
Shiftis model is ideal, only windows and plane texture need modification.
There are many many telvanni towers, each is different. we can have other versions later.
wait... you're saying that the architecture will vary in form based on the city? (excluding tel vos) are we doing this for redoran as well? you're just being vague
no veloth i'm saying that there are a few towers/buildings of the telvanni, they grow from magic, each is not the same.
i know that, i also know that the cuttings are mainly from the emperor cap fungi, the main large fungus. also, if i'm getting this right, we're gonna make tel mora in this style, and perhaps tel branora in a different one? or will all of these towers be exact replicas of those in the original game.

I think just -1 to karma is decent and enough.
Would be more polite to use words to show your position to man, who need to be schooled.
