I declare a contest to see who can finish 1st. Common Imperial Exterior or Hlaalu Exterior, and Redoran Aldruhn!
aaaand GO!
We've had a few changes Andy, Eham is making new plugins, and he got nif tools working for max 13.
For now we only need to create the models, and do some vertex ao.
Familiar with vertex colours (its what skyrim uses rather than a 2nd uv channel, less memory use, requires more polies.)
Liking the models, though the thatch on some of the roofs seems a little bit too thin. I imagine the people inside getting wet when it rains. That could just be an optical illusion caused by the beams sticking out of them though.
I think it might be a good idea to pull some geometry off the edge of the thatch and give it a transparent straw texture. Give it a more feathered, fringed look, you know? Right now it looks too much like a solid chunk that's been painted with a straw texture.
Thanks for the feeback on the roofing, I'm considering adding some apha mapped planes with a seperate material ID. I've only just finished my degree so lifes been a bit hectice. I've sorted out some normals and specular maps for the texture atlas, aswell as taken on some feedback from Eloth and made some bueaty renders.
I'm going to work on more modular pieces, roof variants etc and finish the small Nordic house I started. Eloth linked me a video showing me how to bake creat the Ambient occulision with vertex blending so I'm going to do that first before moving on to the other pieces.
Here's the renders of assets so far
I've also created a trebuchet for an art competition, which we can use in the game as well :) as Eloth mentioned world designers we
These look great! Can't wait to see Iceflame's Caldera with those assets *drools*.
Also, one or two trebuchets I think would be an awesome way to spice up Castle Ebonheart (which is probably going to be a bit bigger than in vanilla Morrowind, together with the port adjacent to it). I don't think there's that much need for siege equipment in the province at the moment, but some extra protection from navy is always something to consider ;)

StormAndy I think with the exporter most things should be game ready. http://tesrenewal.com/forums/tools-and-coding/nif-importexpo...
However if all else fails just send them to me or Eloth and we will get them in game.
i know this may be a biiiiit late, but i personally prefer the roofs without the wood sticking out
also, shouldn't this thread be titled 'common imperial exteriors'

oh. that good assets.
you sure need to make some TES (or middleage) related strategy game after that
Not sure about the roof thickness. Looks great though
