Hello. I believe this is due to an installation error, but I have tried installing in every way possible and cannot get the game to load. I have Morrowind GOTY installed through Steam and Skyrim installed through Steam and updated to latest version.
Once I run the installer and it is "Successful" I launch Skyrim and check to make sure the Skywind.esm and Skywind-Patch.esp files are checked and in the correct order (Patch.esp last). I then hit Play and it goes to the first Skyrim menu screen (black with Skyrim symbol, no text) for a few seconds before kicking me back out to the desktop with no notification or error message or anything. Skyrim is no longer running just like if I exited the program.
I have tried:
1. Put installer and asset .7zip on the desktop. Run installer, as admin, select ...\common\Skyrim folder and go through installation.
2. Put installer and asset .7zip on the desktop. Run installer, as admin, select ...\common\Skyrim\Data folder and go through installation.
3. Put installer on the desktop. Unzip assets files to ...\common\Skyrim\Data. Run installer, as admin, select ...\common\Skyrim folder, and say to continue at pop-up complaining about not finding the assets .7zip file. Install completed.
4. Put installer on the desktop. Unzip assets file to ...\common\Skyrim. Drag \mesh and \texture folders into ...\Skyrim\Data folder. Run installer, as admin, select ...\common\Skyrim folder say to continue at pop-up complaining about not finding the assets .7zip file. Install completed.
With all of these I get no unexpected error messages and all lead to having the Skywind.esm and Skywind - Patch.esp selected in the Data Files tab.
I should also note that I have Morrowind installed on my internal SSD but Skyrim is installed on a separate HDD. Both games run fine on their own however,
Unlike in the video I have seen about installing (for V0.7 I think), I never get the window that checks Skyrim and Morrowind are installed. I never get a prompt to have me disclose the location of my Morrowind installation.
Any idea why it is doing this? I can provide any additional information, screenshots or video if needed. Thank you ahead of time.
Is the folder structure like this from "Skyrim" onwards and do you have all of these folders?
Yessir, although my dates are a little different, all of the folders are there. Currently, because of they way i tried to the most recent install, I only have the Textures and Meches folders in the ...\Skyrim\Data folder.

What happens when you open up Skyrim and at the main menu type "cow wrldmorrowind -5 -5" (without the quotes)?
Thanks for your help on this LASentry! I would love to try your suggestion but the main menu doesn't actually stick around for long enough to type anything into it. It literally goes to the main menu and then crashes with no error report or anything a few seconds later. I don't even get any of the main menu options before it crashes.
I did just have a bit of a break-through/head on the desk moment. I uninstalled Skywind and tried to open Skyrim with no mods and the same thing happened! So I am going to try uninstalling and reinstalling Skyrim. I am heading out of town for a week though so I will let you know what I find when I get back. Looking forward to seeing this project come together and maybe even help with whatever I can. Thanks!
Then your load order is screwed up or your .ini files are edited incorrectly. With mods of this size, it's always the best idea to use a clean installation of Skyrim and delete your .ini files in the documents folder. From there open up the Skyrim launcher to regenerate the .ini files, make sure your graphical settings are correct and make sure your load order is correct. The only mods you should have are the DLC - the load order is: Dawnguard, Hearthfires, Dragonborn. Then it goes straight to Skywind and Skywind - Patch. Also make sure you're using the latest version of Skyrim and SKSE.

If NMM messed it up it will look like this.
Notice that Skyrim.esm is duplicated and Update.esm has been added to the file. This will cause crashed to desktop as soon as you get the the main load screed with the Skyrim logo. You might see a glimpse of the menu but it will be gone in a flash.
Remove the duplicated Skyrim.esm and the Update.esm and Save. Then start Skyrim. It should work now if you found the extra lines in the loadorder.txt file. If not at least you know this is not the issue.
