Hi,
here's the scenario I'm willing to do: install in a temporary folder so that I can update my real data folder with wrye smash. (I want to unzip the resources files manually)
I have Morrowind retail and Skyrim (steam). Windows 7 (64 - french)
Steps:
1/ download v0.6
2/ unrar said installer in temporary location
3/ execute Skywind.exe (in admin mode) see attached picture
4/ click "install"
5/ in Options, update the installation path to c:\temp ; leave the downloaded files as it is [the full path contains spaces - if that helps] - see attached picture
6/ click "next"
7/ in Components, the three default components are found. Click next.
8/ Copy of files seem to fail - see attached picture
9/ The target folder is empty, there is just a data file created - see attached picture
If I install directly in my skyrim folder (steam), it works correctly.
PLz, try to create folder Data in temp folder.
If it helps, bug is - installer dont create Data folder if its missing. Not a bug, but good feature for add.
@Averrin ok it's working if I create a dummy temp/data folder (files get extracted inside "data"). Definitely a good feature for the future :P
Transforming this into a feature request then.

its a contributors mistake and, generally, my mistake - there isnt in manual
