Just made two khajiit in a

Just made two khajiit in a row but khajiit are worlds apart in morrowind and skyrim so i had to go as close as possible and then modernise it.

For instance j'dhannar

hopefully the link doesn't break this time..

i could match the stripes, the hair, the eye's etc

but fur colour and hair colour is very restricted, his face in skyrim is actually on full white, it cannot get any whiter.. and that is the lightest skyrim will allow you to make hair.

Overall i think he will look fine but I like it when I can be more creative with khajiit as they are so different in skyrim heh

in comparison here is j'dato who hasn't got a page on the wiki, so i could be more creative.. he is a slave.. and he obviously doesn't have a big part in morrowind but i for one am gonna go and see him lol

ps. if those rings on his moustache and ears are a status symbol in lore let me know and i will take them off, i don't know much lore i am a tes casual player lol

pps. these faces are in my 4th .esp so are not available yet til i have done more

the creation kit is crashing on me like every 3 minutes...

and i get these errors, (among others):

---

MASTERFILE: Potentially duplicate Navmesh map (00000000)

DEFAULT: OUT OF HANDEL ARRAY ENTRIES. Null handle created for 3bf2a018.

MODELS: furtiture marker properties mismatch in '0furn UdwrvUbench10B'

----

also, when editing faces i cant seem to change the lip color

Read the bottom of the

Read the bottom of the project release thread.  The part about working in the CK. :)

Yes, that looks fine.  Remember, only really memorable NPCs need to look really similar.  The rest can have a lot more artistic license.  After all, Morrowind had very few face textures.

You only need

skyrim.esm (the slim version)

Skyrim CK

the NPC spreadsheet (to find NPCs to do)

There's a tutorial video somewhere in the forum.

firstly a link from digital paranoid:

digitalparanoid wrote:

You'll find some infos at the end of the OP here : http://morroblivion.com/forums/skyrim/skywind-mod-releases/3323

download skywind.esm

download the slim skyrim.esm link found in the quoted link above

download Shadow's exchanger here https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B4jPMYSC8jV0SEJqdjlKWkJOem8/... and follow the instructions.. this is so you can play skyrim and use CK without lots of messing around (great program btw shadow)

then you're all set, press creation kit in the exchanger once you have placed all the files and renamed them in the right place (leave the original skyrim.esm in your data folder.)

go here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AneKYijLPljYdEs2UE5DWmIzdGxrZjB4MlhJWGFkNGc#gid=0 and pick an npc, and change <not started> to your name, it will automatically save

then search that name without the 0 at the start and the big letter in the middle on http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Category:Morrowind-NPCs?from=Q

eg. 0gadaynSandarys - search: gadayn andarys

if there is any typos it should correct you and send you to the correct link.

you will either find a picture or a listing of their race, class etc

now open creation kit..

press file > data...

check skyrim.esm and skywind.esm and load it..

if boxes come up press yes to all.

then in the search bar search that file name.. eg. 0gadaynSandarys

if nothing comes up, scroll down the list on the left and click all and then you should see it on the right. double click it and you will be on the edit window.

check head at the bottom so you can see a preview of the npc and the only things you need to edit are the two tabs i have put arrows to "character gen parts" and "character gen morphs"

the rest is pretty straight forward, the list on the left of parts is what you can change the colour of just like you do in game, and you do that by clicking each one then adjusting the colour box on the right.

across the top is the age drop down box and the hair colour

hair style, eye colour and eyebrows etc are in the first bigger box on the right, you click the one you want then choose from the drop down below.

and morphs doesnt need any explanation.

if the character has a picture on uesp then try to make it look like that to the limitations of CK.. if it has no picture just read their class etc and imagine what they'd look like and be creative. For example, a pauper is going to be thin built and have a dirty face and i make high level mages look older.

please note all Dunmer females have a scar loaded on default in the bottom box on the right.. highlight it and delete it.. the scars dont show up in the head preview but you don't want every dunmer female walking around with the same scar lol.

once you are done, you can repeat the process and edit another npc or just save the one face, (i do about 10-15 per plugin)

to make your plugin.. press okay to close the edit page then press save.. name your plugin and save it to your data directory.. so i just call mine notmarkifacegen1 2 3 etc.

if you want to come back to it after you have closed the CK then when you are loading using data under file.. select skyrim.esm skywind.esm and then scroll right down to the bottom (if you havent used boss) to find your plug in.. check that and then click "make active file/plugin" (forgot what it says) then press okay

finally CK crashes unexpectedly so save after every completed face..

sorry i rabble on but hopefully this helped you and anyone else who comes on here :)

Deadline is a complex word around here since we're all doing that for fun ;)

I guess just give progress status regularly so that we know you're still working on it. And should you leave (which you're obviously entitled to !), just let us know.

One questions though - can someone please tell me if it's possible to change the ears?

just a couple of thoughts

if you have morrowind, you could open the Creation Set and pull up the NPC and look at them, for those not on the wiki...

Also, I think the elves are all beardless because in almost every universe ever created, elves don't have facial hair...  not saying it has to be that way, but just putting it out there...

I have been reading fantasy books since the 80's and can easily say I've read over 1000 books with elves in them, and I have never heard of any sub-breed of Elf having facial hair, even in DND the half elves didn't get facial hair, unless the player really wanted it and the DM let it.

I have not checked, but I would guess if you checked the CS for Morrowind, you would not find any elves with facial hair...

Finndo, skim through the

Finndo, skim through the Morrowind wiki NPC page. You will find about 20-25% of all the Dunmer males have some form of facial hair, goatee, etc. At least, in my experience recreating a significant amount of male Dunmer faces, many of them have had facial hair. It's not all that uncommon in the Elder Scrolls series.

The plugins are merged when we create a new master. We try to have as few persons doing the merge in order to keep consistency and track internal master versions (that will be Machine, I can help as well).

Hi there

Hi there!

So I've been following this project for month, and you people are great. Seeing that the work is speeding up but with still a whole lot to do, made me want to say that I helped doing this blablabla, (I think you heard this too much time ;) ), I mean, I'm mostly interested in Skyblivion (never played morrowind...) but skywind needs to be done first apparently.

So yeah, I made some mods on the nexus (for Skyrim, and I love modding when I have the time) and I realized that i may be useful here, I have some knowledge in the CK, a bit in 3D modelling... But the only thing I could manage to do is npc conversion, for now. The problem is, i don't have any creativity/imagination and never played morrowind, and since the whole task is making unique NPCs... Is that matter if NPCs don't correspond at all at the original one ? If I do random faces with minor modifications, will it be ok ?

Oh and btw, I think I'll make a dozen or two NPCs, maybe more, but unfortunately I don't have much time at the moment...

Cheers

Powered by Google traduction, sorry for that

@AlexP   Scroll up about

@AlexP   Scroll up about halfway through this page, NotMarki has created an excellent guide for people who want to take part in NPC conversion. If the NPC is an important character (important usually being determined by if they have a page on the Morrowind wiki, for example: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Tashpi_Ashibael) than they need to look like the original character as closely as possible (with some minor creative touches). If they are a non-important NPC, for example some random NPC you kill in a dungeon, you have more creative freedom with how to make their face. In that case, just try to align them somewhat with their class (which should be listed on the wiki as well, even if they don't have a page).

As far as I know, there are

As far as I know, there are not any hair models replicating the hair models from Morrowind. You just have to try to find one that closely matches as possible. Sometimes you just have to go with what feels right, since the hair style may be completely unrepresented.

Ok, thanks. So maybe what I could, is make it. I think I saw a tutorial somewhere on how to convert hairstyle for different game, so I may try to do it, as well as warpaint... Will see ;)
